The staff here were welcoming and helpful. This is a traditional Riyad without frills - but was spacious, comfortable, had air conditioning and all that we needed. Breakfast was delicious, as was the evening meal - both involved traditional Moroccan food. The Riyad arranged taxis for us, on request, including a taxi for the day to visit the Atlas Mountains (which was a fantastic day). The Riyad is 5 minutes from the main square and the markets - and we found our way there easily. It is also 3 minutes from the Hotel Tazi which has a bar.

I loved the decor and atmosphere. The terrace is beautiful and it was a really special place to have breakfast, great start to the day ! The bedrooms were clean and neat with interesting decor.

The atrium is beautiful but it was raining when we arrived so very wet getting in and out of each others rooms. There was a lot of noise when people were coming in during the night or early morning - maybe checking in.... but it would not put me off staying again. I would have liked a better mirror maybe in a bright position... . Also we found the booking on line confusing as we thought we had paid the full amount by credit card but found out on checking out that we had in fact only paid half, this being the deposit. We had no problem with the system but would have liked it to be more clear on the site.

The hotel is situated just around the corner of Place Jamaa el Fna. The rooms are lovely, very quiet and cool. It also has a nice roof top terrace where you can enjoy your breakfast and the sun. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The host, Smilie, is a winner. He's efficient, personable, smart. He takes care of the details and makes you feel at home. He's an Artist, as Seth Godin defines the word. I'm happy I got to meet the guy. The Riad is lucky to have him. We had dinner there, and it was really wonderful. I'd recommend it.

After having tried other riads in Marrakesh, it was a big pleasure to arrive to this one. Its an excellent location, very easy to find with the directions they send you after you book. It is literally 5 minutes from the main square (not like many others that say 5 minutes and it takes you 50!). The riad is clean, the rooms are big and comfortable, great huge baththubs! The bed is nice and soft! The staff very nice and helpful and the breakfast is good. Really good value! I totally reccomend it.

The location of Dar Choumissa is excellent, just 5 minutes walk from Place Jma El Fna. The room was very pleasant and breakfast was simple but fine. I did not meet the owner until just before leaving as he had been away over the weekend, but the other staff were very friendly and helpful.

The attention Aziz gave us - he helped us with finding places, what to do, and even browsing the net to find some places we had heard of. Did I mention he showed us how to make the wonderful Moroccan tea? :-)

It's well located, although I'd recommend arriving during the day, because if you don't know where you are it may look a bit scary.

The room was fabulous and large with a lovely bathroom. The roof terrace was wonderful at all times of the day. Would definitely stay here again.

The riad is only a couple of minutes walking from Jemaa el Fna, but still in a quiet area with birds singing in the morning. The riad is clean, nice and has a lovely rooftop terrace, and the service is very friendly and helpful. (They only speak morrocan or french). The rooms has a spartanically interior, and there is no door in the bathroom, but still, authentic and cool. Good value for money and great location!

There is no swimmingpool in this riad as informed on Booked.net. The breakfast is good, but after a week with yoghurt, banana and light bread with jam it would be great with some variation.

Except for one very large room for 4 people, the Ryad did not have air-conditioning. We cancelled our reservation for the room we wanted (for 2 people) because of no air conditioning, and paid more for the larger room.However, the air-conditioner did not cool the room sufficiently. While Marrakech was very hot most of the time we were there (110 degrees F), for the price we paid, a better air-conditioner should be installed.

The hotel is spotless and easily accessible. It is close enough to everything without being in the heart of the medina madness and fairly easy to find by yourself following the directions on their website. The staff was helpful and friendly, even across the language barrier and the evening meal delicious and good value for money. I've had a look at all the rooms and they are quite large and well ventilated (important!) and while there is no aircon, fans are provided. There is also a very nicely furnished rooftop terrace for a nice cool escape.

The staff that I came in contact with all spoke only French, but we managed to communicate, so that was fine. Because the hotel is in a fairly new building, its walls are not as thick as the traditional buildings, which meant that the rooms were quite hot at night. It was really unberable in June, so I wouldn't like to stay there in July and August. I would also have liked to be able to order a drink (nothing fancy - tea, soda, water) on the terrace.

Great hosts, peaceful courtyard, great rooftop, delish breakfast - all in all - excellent choice for a few nights in Marrakech.

The area around the riad feels kinda dodgy at night - but then again, which area in Marrakech isn'T. We witnessed this hooligan trying to run over a poor man with his motorbike at around midnight - several times! When you make it past the chaos, the riad is a sanctuary and very safe. Don't let this deter you if you're on this budget level and want to be close to Jer-mef-na (that's how you pronounce it!)

The hotel is just 5-10 minutes walk from the main square and souks, and it was therefore ideally positioned for seeing the city without needing a taxi ride. We did the 'cookery' introduction and got to eat the food afterwards - so it was a good value extra. The staff were very helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed the hotel, the city of Marrakech, and our first visit to Morocco.
